The Best Way to Measure Abortion Incidenses

Abortion is the most debated topic in the world today. It is also the most controversial and contested problem covering the world today. The world can't come to a common ground and concur on this problem. Thanks to diversity in colour, culture and religion. Abortion incidences can be measured by either keeping tallies of total abortions carried out by women who start into categories that are defined and specified. Alternatively, abortion incidences can be measured through the calculation of all abortions in total per 1000 women that constitute total population in apiece specified category. A good yardstick for instance is the length of the pregnancy. A majority of women terminate their pregnancies at the first trimester. This indicates that more than half of all aborted pregnancies occur before 8 weeks into the pregnant have elapsed.

Age is one of the ideal indicators to use when measuring abortion incidences. Studies indicate that abortions are most prevalent between the ages of 20 to 24. It ought to be remembered that this is also the most fertile and sexually active stage in a woman’s life. The woman is at the apex and optimum fertility levels. Women who are over 30 years of age come a close second to this category. The major reason being that this age group has long been married. It is rare for a married woman to obtain an abortion. Unplanned pregnancies are also rare in a marriage setup. Young women between 15 and 19 years of age come last with a considerable number terminating their pregnancies at this tender age. A pregnancy at this age is considered a hindrance to career accomplishments and a financial constraint.

The level of income, residence and education can be use to source for accurate data when measuring abortion incidences. Previous studies done on this topic indicated that more than half of all women who obtain an abortion have attained college education. From this point it is simple to maybe establish the role of education and how it influences human sexuality. The highest incidences occur in the metropolitan areas. This is happening in both the developed world and the developing world. In the third world, a full study is being conducted on how urbanization influences and impacts on sexual behavior. When it comes to income as a parameter, Low-income earners obtain more abortions than middle or high income earners. Maybe it is because of demand of substitute forms of recreation. But poor people tend to have more children.

Religion and marital position are good determinants that can measure abortion incidences. It ought to be noted that abortions cut crossways the religious divide. Each religious affiliation is represented when it comes to abortions. However, some religions are very strict when it comes to abortions. A majority of women who aborted in the United Says are Roman Catholics. Marital position of a woman greatly influences whether a woman will obtain an abortion. Unmarried women represent the highest number of abortion patients at any one time. They are closely followed by unmarried and divorced women. Married women are unlikely to resort to abortions to terminate an unintended pregnancy.

Distinguishing the Types of Abortion

Abortion might be the most distressing event a woman might have to undergo, even though certainly, not all women have to undergo the process. The stress on the woman can arise from different factors such as:

1) Incompatibility with religious beliefs, social, and cultural norms. Even though abortion has been accepted in some countries, there are still areas that are averse to it, citing that the process must be stopped because it is simply an aberration from the normal and socially approved pattern of doing things. Social pressure might be enormous. Sometimes a woman contemplating  abortion might feel the world’s view is cast fully against her.

2) Lack of support from partner, parents, and friends. Because abortion is very individualized to a woman, she needs emotional support and guidance throughout the whole ordeal. In the absence of support from persons she anticipates to be supportive during her time of greatest need, the onus of decision making is multiplied greatly. In some cases, a woman might even contemplate suicide, resorting to choices that might cause more harm than good.

When a woman has finally decided on aborting her pregnancy, she might refer to a medical practitioner. In some countries that are traditionally averse to the practice, medical practitioners are explicitly prohibited in performing such an operation. In those countries, most abortions are done underground and in secret places.

The Two Types of Abortion: Providing the Ideal Option

Abortions are commonly classified into two terms: spontaneous abortion and induced abortion. Their characteristic might be described as follows:

Induced Abortion. An induced abortion means that the pregnancy was intentionally terminated. There are numerous methods of providing abortion to a pregnant woman, the choice of which is sometimes limited by legislation as the law specifically identifies the legal abortion processes in countries where the practice is legal. Induced abortion is classified either as therapeutic or elective. A therapeutic abortion might be conducted for any of the following reasons:

1) To save the life of the pregnant woman especially if the pregnancy involves placing the woman’s health in enormous risk upon delivery.

2)T erminate a pregnancy that was diagnosed to result in a child born with congenital diseases that would be fatal or might cause a significant morbidity in both physical and mental aspects.

3) Even though rarely the reason for abortion, the process is also done to selectively reduce the number of fetuses to lessen the risks involved in multiple pregnancies where there is a high possibility of a number of child born with defects.   On the other hand, elective abortion is done at the request of the woman for various reasons other than those enumerated above.

Spontaneous abortion is commonly known as miscarriage. It is the expulsion of the fetus from the embryo due to various causes, none of which is deemed intentional. Thedefinition of miscarriages varies among states, depending on the number of weeks of pregnancy prior to its termination.

Pro-choice Governing Officials, Abortion, and the Creator

3233935471 c607a4fe9b m Pro choice Governing Officials, Abortion, and the Creator

While many view “The State” as a anonymous institution (a behemoth of impersonal laws, bureaucracies and buildings), a Biblical Theist does not recognize this definition. The Say is simply a collection of accountable individuals. It is by design I address this to the “Governing Official” – not a faceless, “State. ” After defining a governing official’s role before the Creator, we will look at the hopes, the fears – and my advice to – governing officials concerning abortion.

“O Governing Official . . . Your Role and Responsibility”

Romans 13:1-4, concisely defines the role and responsibility of governing officials. “Let apiece mortal be in subjection to the governing authorities . . . . For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who practices evil . . . ” (Ro 13:1-4).

Actually, the dominance itself is “theou gar diakonos” – “of God . . . a deacon, servant, or minister”! The Creator calls governing dominance – His minister! When one takes on this power, that one is responsible – and accountable – to use that tool of God according to God! I wonder how many governing officials know this? And the ministry? Support law-abiding producers and punish evildoers. And governing officials are to properly define what is good or evil – according to God’s definition. So, with this in mind, let’s analyze abortion.

The Hopes of Pro-Choice Governing Officials

1. The preborn is subhuman. It is not a mortal and has no rights. It is a nameless, anonymous blob of matter – a “growth” inside a woman. So, while abortion kills tissue that is alive, this destruction is not the taking of “a life. “

2. The Church/State separation governing construct is valid. So, if there is a Creator, and even a creator interested in the preborn, abortion is a religious question and the government can rightly excuse itself from the entire issue. After all, there is no consensus even among the religious as to when human life is considered “a person”. Therefore, this question confronts even the most pious government official: “Do I have the right to impose my religious beliefs on my constituents?” So, the governing dominance takes the perceived high road and delegates the fate of this living “thing” to the mother.

3. A woman’s privacy trumps the life of the preborn. Bumper stickers stating, “Get the government out of my womb!” capsulate the position.

4. It is okay to delegate “the sword” to private citizens to be used against the preborn.

5. There is no Creator of the preborn – nor One to whom the governing official must account. Conception is a random, natural event.

“We are not saying abortion is good or right – nor are we participating in it. We are simply passing this decision off to the woman and her doctor. It is the woman’s body and she has a privacy right. This is a health issue out of the legitimate jurisdiction of government. ” The Humanist governing official has place all of his/her hopes on the validity of the positions above.

The Fears of Pro-Choice Governing Officials (At Least These Should Cause Fear)

1. The preborn is human. (But, if there is no One to statement to – so what?)

2. A Church/State governmental construct does not release governing authorities from the Creator’s moral expectations and stipulations for governance.

3. The Creator has prefabricated apiece preborn. He has a vested interest in apiece one. A mother’s “right to privacy” does not trump this. He owns His work – mom and preborn.

4. Governing officials who kill the preborn, or grant the preborn to be killed, have erred in their responsibility with “the sword. ” They have either errantly wielded it (China), or erred by delegating it to private citizens (USA).

5. Governing officials hold accountable positions before the Creator. He has the willingness, and ability, to call apiece one before Him to statement for his/her role in apiece act of abortion. This includes an bookkeeping for the hapless embryos of the stem cell endeavors.

If any of these “fears” are true, then the errant governing official will be found as a lethal agent toward the most defenseless of the human family.

“Now therefore, O kings, act wisely; take warning, O judges (leaders) of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear . . . . Do homage to the Son (Kiss the Son), lest He become angry, and you be destroyed in your way . . . ” (Ps 2:10-12). Jesus is either The Ruler over all authorities – or He is not. (See Mt 28:18, Phil 2:9-11, Col 1:16, Rev 19:16, etc. , etc. , etc. ).

The Biggest Error – That Pesky Life Element

All who support abortion rights are operating with a fatal assumption. They have adopted the view of the atheistic, evolutionary, naturalist – before science has proven the view is true! And what is that opinion? The “spark” that causes life (in a mixture of non living elements) is a natural occurrence. Life “arises” when the proper elements are present in the right environment. What a large blunder. Until scientists can isolate, identify, replicate or otherwise discover the “life element,” self interest should restrain one from rushing to kill innocent human life. Abortion’s primary purpose is to sufficiently scramble living material until that “life element” vacates. What it is, how it got there, or where it goes – no one has a clue. Abortion activity only knows how to make it leave. So, . . . what if this is the truth? “See now that I, I am He, and there is no god besides Me; It is I who place to death and give life . . . “(Deut 32:39). What might such a Creator do to abortion rights supporters?

What Should Individuals Who Serve in Government Do?

You should think of it this way. “If it is even remotely doable the pro-life position is correct, then I must do whatever it takes to refrain any complicity in abortion. When my short life ends, I must make sure I have no culpability in this area before a creator of life. ” Whether contraception that produces the death of a preborn, or the harvesting of embryonic stem cells, or giving “the sword” to abortionists . . . I would do whatever was necessary to make sure the Creator of that life would have no cause against me. Protests and pressures coming from all the pro-choice quarters (Democratic Celebration Platform, NOW, Planned Parenthood, NARAL, etc. ) would drop into the background as I see my time before the Creator drawing ever more near. Let them vote me out, impeach me, or otherwise depose me. And, if they must, let them kill me. “My friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who after He has killed has dominance to cast into Hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!” (Lk 12:4,5). “It is a terrifying thing to start into the hands of the living God” (Heb 10:31). Like is so often the case in the Bible, this is a big understatement. But passivity towards abortion, or even a total abstinence of participation in its activity, is insufficient. Governing officials are charged with the welfare of apiece mortal under his/her jurisdiction. God anticipates governing officials to shut down abortion.

“O Participating Governing Official . . . . “

Do not think your pro-choice voting block, lobbyists, or advisors will come to your aid on Judgment Day. While the Creator will be meting out their “reward” for their errant actions and influences, those same “friends” will be busy declaring you prefabricated your own choices – and those choices should not start back on them. But, don’t worry. The Creator will not grant their blame shifting to be successful. But know that apiece of them will be scrambling, in a vain attempt, to save themselves from their Creator. You, and your defense, will be the last thing on their minds. In this matter, I am your friend. But you must listen now. I will not be healthy to help you then.
